I’m Farid, a security leader based in Dallas. I got into infosec in the early 2000s but only made it my career in 2019. Started on the compliance side, moved through security engineering, and now lead across the whole field: the technical surface (IAM, cloud security, SecOps, vulnerability management, AppSec, AISec), the program side (GRC, security architecture), and the people work (sales enablement, training).

I’m a software engineer too. I built advancework.app and btpdevis.fr. Before any of this, my main work for about a decade was running interior design and remodeling companies. Across all of it I keep coming back to building things. Doesn’t really matter if the material is code, drywall, or a security program.

I write here when I’ve got something to say that I can’t find on someone else’s blog.
